Last week, we learned that George doesn’t think anyone has properly settled the tariffs question and that it can certainly be done.
He said something about a bull tied to a post getting all wrapped up and not knowing how to untie itself. You can watch last week’s episode here!
We haven’t yet heard if tariffs are hot or not. George says anyone can understand, it doesn’t take long study.
I contest this. While, maybe I agree with George it doesn’t take long study, but it takes more study than the majority of humans will dedicate to study, especially as long as the majority of humans are themselves wage slaves. Most people will adopt the positions of those around them. If all your brothers and sisters and mothers and fathers were a Georgist, you’d probably be one too. How then, does society change? Anyway, Protection or Free Trade isn’t about that. It’s about tariffs.
